Work Package 3 of the HASTA project, Thermo-Fluid Dynamics, is devoted to the development and assessment of numerical approaches for the simulation of the thermo-fluid phenomena occurring in partially filled tanks. The activities are organised according to a progressive increase in physical complexity. Isothermal sloshing is addressed first in Task 3.1, followed by thermal convection in Task 3.2, heat and mass transfer in two-phase flows without tank excitation in Task 3.3, and, finally, excited two-phase flows including heat and mass transfer in Task 3.4. Within this framework, Task 3.1 provides the hydrodynamic basis for the subsequent incorporation of thermal and phase-change effects.

Abstract
Work Package 3 of the HASTA project, Thermo-Fluid Dynamics, is devoted to the development and assessment of numerical approaches for the simulation of the thermo-fluid phenomena occurring in partially filled tanks. The activities are organised according to a progressive increase in physical complexity. Isothermal sloshing is addressed first in Task 3.1, followed by thermal convection in Task 3.2, heat and mass transfer in two-phase flows without tank excitation in Task 3.3, and, finally, excited two-phase flows including heat and mass transfer in Task 3.4. Within this framework, Task 3.1 provides the hydrodynamic basis for the subsequent incorporation of thermal and phase-change effects.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
