This document describes version 4.0 of the ACTRIS-EARLINET quality control procedures applied to aerosol lidar products stored in the ACTRIS/EARLINET database. It details the automated Basic Quality Controls (BQC), Advanced Quality Controls (AQC), and Multiproduct Quality Controls (MPQC) used to evaluate technical compliance, physical consistency, and cross-product coherence. Version 4.0 introduces new implementations of the quality control framework, supporting improved data validation, quality-level assignment, and the long-term reliability and traceability of aerosol lidar observations.
