This book is intended as a continuation and update of the volume “Aris, Mineralogy of the famous alkaline phonolite” published in 2016, which was commissioned at the time by the publishers AMI (Italian Micromineralogical Association), GOM (Orobic Minerals Group) and Reiner Bode Verlag. GOM’s interest in this locality arose from two mineralogical expeditions to Namibia in 1998 and 2011, during which the participants were captivated by the Namibian landscapes, as well as the complex and sophisticated geology and mineralogy.An international team comprising scientists, geologists and collectors united by a shared passion, enthusiasm and interest in alkaline mineralogy has produced this new book on the Aris phonolite in Namibia
