Present work reports the activities related to numerical computations on a 70 m yacht. From the draws produced by the customer, still water resistance and seakeeping computatios have been produced. Still water resistance has been estimated in between 8 and 18 knots, with 3.65 m of draft. Seakeeping computations have been performed for the speeds of 0 and 14.5 knots, seastate 4, 5 and 6, as from table 1. Headings form 0 to 180 degrees step 30 degrees are available. Together with the Response Amplitude Operators (RAO) for displacement, velocity and acceleration of the Center Of Gravity (COG) in the 6 Degrees Of Freedom (DOF), motions in corrispondance of three different positions of the ship have been investigated, together with slamming and propeller emergence events. All the numerical computations have been produced applying potential flow solvers. BEM method for the still water resistance prediction is applied, while strip theory method for seakeeping computations is adopted.

Abstract
BEM method for the still water resistance prediction is applied, while strip theory method for seakeeping computations is adopted.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
