The present proposal is presented by INSEAN (IT) acting as a coordinator for a consortium consisting of NTUA (GR), FINCANTIERI (IT), ITU (TK), DERA (UK) and itself. This volume -V1- contains the technical proposal for the EUCLID RTP10.14, entitled 'Optimal Techniques for Hull Geometry'. The overall goal of the project is: Following the EUCLID procedure, a consortium has been created. This consortium meets industrial partners, called Industrial Entities (IE), from the 4 different countries that signed the EUCLID RTP 10.14 Implementing Arrangement (IA). These 4 countries are: Italy (Lead Nation) (IT) Greece (GR) Turkey (TK) United Kingdom (UK) The consortium leader, called the Single Legal Industrial Entity (SLIE), is responsible of the Proposal. The consortium consists of 4 IE and 1 SLIE: This Technical Proposal includes the following items: o the Methodology description (V1.2), presenting the approach proposed by the consortium for achieving the objectives of the present RTP. The role of each IE is described, showing a real and efficient co- operation between the different partners, based on their specific own ability and experience; o the Work breakdown structure of the RTP (V1.3), presenting the technical work under Work Packages (WP) and Work Elements (WE) or Tasks. Each WE or task corresponds to a specific step in the project, and is conducted under the responsibility of one IE. EUCLID Research Project RTP 10.14 - Optimal Techniques for Hull Geometry - TECHNICAL PROPOSAL
1999
Abstract
Thus, the total amount of effort per IE is defined by adding the WE for each IE, in term of total effort to the programme, Schedule, Milestone definition, Deliverables. The Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) takes into account: o Needs in Technical Staff o Needs in Technical Equipment o Financial condition o Eventual subcontracts o Critical event dates o Availability and adequacy of technical staff, equipment and facilities; o Tests and validation plans ?????The development of a numerical method aimed at the determination of the optimum hydrodynamic shape of a mono-hull ship with respect to both total resistance and seakeeping characteristics ???????
