The activities reported in this working paper were carried out by INSEAN for the collaborative research programme THALES JP 10.111, entitled "Advanced Monohull Concepts". The programme has been initiated among the Navies of The Netherlands, Denmark and Italy. The partner institutions are MARIN, DMI and INSEAN respectively. One of the aims of this programme was to obtain knowledge on hydromechanic characteristics by numerical and model test studies on systematic variations of advanced monohull concepts. The objective of the work reported here was the assessment of the parent hull form. The parent hull form chosen is that of the MO2015 frigate design. The assessment aims to determine the hydrodynamic characteristics of the parent hull forms in order to have a basis for comparison with new hull concepts. The hydrodynamics characteristics considered by INSEAN were calm water resistance, main flow parameters (wave pattern, velocity profiles, pressures) around the hull and the behaviour of pitch and heave motions in waves. All the results presented here were obtained by the CFD codes developed by INSEAN itself.

Abstract
All the results presented here were obtained by the CFD codes developed by INSEAN itself.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
