The Italian law directive (DLgs J52/99) provides indications for water body classification based on environmental quality objectives. The present study reports the results obtained through a monitoring activity carried out on the groundwater of the "Tavoiiere di Puglia", between the rivers Fortore and Cervaro. Data analysis shows different qualitative and quantitative features of groundwater and allows the characterisation of different areas. On the basis of the recorded data, groundwater has been classified in different quality classes.
