Abstract
The outbreak of diseases caused by Vibrio (Listonella) anguillarum and Photobacterium damselae sub. piscicida represent the major threat source in marine fish farming, in the Mediterranean area. Rapid methods for the early detection of bacterial pathogens in the waters of aquaculture plants are needed to prevent the outbreak of diseases. New analytical procedures, currently in use in microbial ecology, offer wide perspectives in this field, allowing the detection of target bacteria using the fluorescent antibody technique and the discrimination of the living and dead fractions of bacterial population.File in questo prodotto:
