The striped seabream Lithognathus mormyrus (Linnaeus, 1758) is one of the most abundant demersal species on coastal sandy bottoms in the whole Mediterranean. It has a wide geographic distribution and can be found in the Red sea, in eastern Atlantic and in the western Indian ocean (Tortonese, 1970, 1955). The striped seabream is a desired prey for artisanal and sporting fishery (Bauchot, 1987). It is a proterandrous hermaphrodite. Reproduction occurs in summer, from June to the end of August (Tortonese, 1955; Kraljevi? et al., 1995). The purpose of this research is to study the diet composition of L. mormyrus, to point out the main preys of females and males in the four seasons.
