Pressure and noise measurements are performed around a cavitating propeller in non-uniform flowfield. High speed visualizations are used to quantify the cavitation extension across the wake. Harmonic analysis is performed that allows the identification of the different pressure and noise sources and their respective contribution to the induced fluctuations. An attempt is made to develop a simple model to predict the pressure fluctuations due to the occurence of cavitation, based on the cavity volume acceleration.

Abstract
Pressure and noise measurements are performed around a cavitating propeller in non-uniform flowfield. High speed visualizations are used to quantify the cavitation extension across the wake. Harmonic analysis is performed that allows the identification of the different pressure and noise sources and their respective contribution to the induced fluctuations. An attempt is made to develop a simple model to predict the pressure fluctuations due to the occurence of cavitation, based on the cavity volume acceleration.File in questo prodotto:
