EVIDENCE FOR SURFACE ENHANCED RAMAN SCATTERING FROM III-V SEMICONDUCTOR QUANTUM DOTS

2004

Abstract

We present an extension of the SERS effect to semiconductors providing unambiguous evidence for SERS from III-V semiconductor quantum-dots. For pyridine molecules adsorbed on InAs/GaAs quantum-dots we estimate a large surface enhancement factor of the order of 103. The most interesting feature in the observed SERS spectrum is the appearance of a new band probably due to the chemisorbed pyridine.
