Abstract

Buildings and monuments, historical centres, parks and urban sites, all represent typologies with which the conservation doctrine has to relate itself, moreover dealing with the implied question of accessibility. Accessibility that is very often compromising for a 'fruition of quality', considered as esthetical and intellectual enjoyment, because of the anthropical impact caused by mass tourism. Accessibility in other cases compromised by the morphology of the places and of the traditional typologies, as for the fabric of ancient cities. Accessibility other times completely denied, owing to security reasons, such as for monumental structures or for some urban parks and gardens, obstructing or conditioning the entrance and altering the visual-spatial perception. After all, through some significant examples, the conflict between accessibility and fruition of historical building and of natural antropized spaces offers the starting point to do reflections upon a delicate theme, that the conservation culture is bounded to face concretely.
