In the present study, we examine the competition and coexistence of singlet superconductivity and itinerant ferromagnetism for a system in which the two orders are confined in spatial separated layers, by focusing on the effect of the spin exchange interaction between the two electronic subsystems. Within a mean-field approximation, the ground state phase diagram is derived and the role of the spin exchange between the two subsystems is discussed. (c) 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Abstract
In the present study, we examine the competition and coexistence of singlet superconductivity and itinerant ferromagnetism for a system in which the two orders are confined in spatial separated layers, by focusing on the effect of the spin exchange interaction between the two electronic subsystems. Within a mean-field approximation, the ground state phase diagram is derived and the role of the spin exchange between the two subsystems is discussed. (c) 2006 Elsevier B.V.
