The partial ionisation cross-section of the N2 + 2?u -1 state has been measured in an asymmetric (e,2e) experiment at 1000 eV incident energy. The cross-section shows some features that we have interpreted as due to the autoionisation of N2 neutral double excited states to the 2?u -1 continuum competing with direct ionisation.
