Main objectives of the present paper are threefold: (1) to describe the development of two alternative multiobjective optimization methods based on complex CFD analysis; (2) to demonstrate their capabilities by applying them to a real ship design problem and (3) to give account of the experimental campaign carried out to validate the numerical results and assess the success of the optimization.
