Vitual reality (vr) has had much success in many different fields such as entertainment, medicine or military training. This paper describes the realization of prototypal system for machine tools teaching in a virtual environment. This prototype represents the kemel of a larger project that foresees the development of other educational forms to teach the main machine tools and relating machinings; making it possible to create the first virtual reality machine-shop in which users perform whole manufacturing cycles.
