We report a study of morphological, compositional and structural aspects of SrRuO4-Sr3Ru2O7 cutectic crystals to check the stoichiometry of the phases that compose the crystals and how the two phases match each other in the same crystal. This knowledge is also a necessary prerequisite for the understanding of the experimental results on the superconducting behaviour reported. (C) 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
