The design and creation of new materials with predetermined properties has become one of the most current problems of modern applied chemistry. As the MOCVD technique is more and more exploited for industrially obtaining functional coatings and materials, it was used by the authors to deposit HfO2 hard protective coatings on various substrates. Synthesis and characterization of both the precursors, a series of bicyclo[2.2.1]heptanolates of dicyclopentadienyl hafnium (IV), and of the hard coatings obtained are reported and discussed here.

Abstract
The design and creation of new materials with predetermined properties has become one of the most current problems of modern applied chemistry. As the MOCVD technique is more and more exploited for industrially obtaining functional coatings and materials, it was used by the authors to deposit HfO2 hard protective coatings on various substrates. Synthesis and characterization of both the precursors, a series of bicyclo[2.2.1]heptanolates of dicyclopentadienyl hafnium (IV), and of the hard coatings obtained are reported and discussed here.File in questo prodotto:
