A new glycoside, 5,7,2',5'-tetrahydroxyflavanone 7-rutinoside, together with narirutin and rosmarinic acid were isolated from the aerial part of Hamelia patens. The structures were assigned by spectral (1H, 13C, DEPT 13 CNMR and FABMS) methods and the absolute configurations by CD in conjunction with NMR data.
