Prior to the present study, fourteen species of terrestrial isopods had been recorded from Oman. The systematic status of a species of Periscyphis, previously not fully identified, has been reconsidered; it is described here as a new species (Periscyphis dhofarensis). In addition, one genus (Omanodillo) and two species (Xeroniscus troglophilus and Omanodillo gardneri) are described as new. A list of the 17 oniscidean species presently known from Oman is given. The composition and origin of this fauna is discussed and a map of the species distribution within the country is presented.

Abstract
Prior to the present study, fourteen species of terrestrial isopods had been recorded from Oman. The systematic status of a species of Periscyphis, previously not fully identified, has been reconsidered; it is described here as a new species (Periscyphis dhofarensis). In addition, one genus (Omanodillo) and two species (Xeroniscus troglophilus and Omanodillo gardneri) are described as new. A list of the 17 oniscidean species presently known from Oman is given. The composition and origin of this fauna is discussed and a map of the species distribution within the country is presented.File in questo prodotto:
