Raman spectroscopy and PIXE-alpha spectrometry were used as non-destructive techniques to study the Salerno Exultet. The whole analysis revealed a palette formed by gold, lapis-lazuli, cinnabar, verdigris, earths (white, red, brown, green), organic lakes and chalk and to highlight the presence of many restorative interventions.
