Tsallis distribution functions are shown to arise in the case of charged particles in electric and magnetic elds, inelastically interacting with a medium. Explicit results for Maxwell and hard-sphere interactions are provided. The mean energy and the components of the current density are plotted as functions of both the electric and the magnetic elds.
