A study of the transformation kinetics from the as-quenched to the nanocrystalline state in alloys of composition Fe73.SX3CU 1 Si 13.SB9 (X= Ta, Mo and Nb) is presented. The na nocrystallisation process, which takes place during the first crystallisation step, was studied by thennal analysis under continuous heating. The shift of the first crystallisation peak temperamre, Tx, with a heating rate, R, was used to obtain the Kissinger plots (In R/Tx2 versus l/Tx) and derive the apparent activation energies for the three alloys. The results show a very similar behaviour for the three alloys.
