Olive mill wastewater (OMWW) is the by-product of the olive oil production. It is characterized by a dark brownish color, and by a strong odor. It is considered one of the most pollulant wastes produced by the agricultural industry. Phenol compounds present in the wastewater inhibit growth of microorganisms. This communication reportes the utilization of de-phenolized OMWW as a substrate for the production of biohydrogen by means of photosynthetic microorganisms.

Abstract
Olive mill wastewater (OMWW) is the by-product of the olive oil production. It is characterized by a dark brownish color, and by a strong odor. It is considered one of the most pollulant wastes produced by the agricultural industry. Phenol compounds present in the wastewater inhibit growth of microorganisms. This communication reportes the utilization of de-phenolized OMWW as a substrate for the production of biohydrogen by means of photosynthetic microorganisms.File in questo prodotto:
