A first section covers modeling, management and environment related issues, ranging from advances in modeling and monitoring, to potentials of remote sensing technologies. In a second section we grouped emerging technologies including the application of information technology or remote sensing and of Bacillus thuringiensis or mycorrhizae in IPM. In a third section, molecular issues in IPM/IDM were grouped, with chapters treating the management of insect borne viruses through transmission interference as an alternative to pesticides, the novel microbial compounds suitable for pest/disease control and the use of molecular diagnostic tools in IPM/IDM.
