Analisi della dinamica del paesaggio vegetale della Riserva Naturale Orientata "Valle delle Ferriere" (Campania)

Landscape changes analysis in Riserva Naturale Orientata “Valle delle Ferriere” (Campania) - Landscape dynamics in Nature Reserve “Valle delle Ferriere” during 1954-1984 are presented. Aerial photographs (1954, 1974 and 1984) of the area were firstly used to obtain three vegetation maps. Using a G.I.S. approach, land cover dynamics were analysed and discussed in terms of different vegetation type cover changes, transition patterns and probabilities. A general defragmentation of landscape was noted, with an increasing of woodlands and a decreasing of herbaceous community, with negative consequences in terms of species richness. Dynamical processes resulted to be faster in 1954-1974 than in 1974-1984 period, according to socio-economical changes.
