I DECAPODI BERSAGLIO DELLA FLOTTA ARTIGIANALE TRA CAPO GRANITOLA E CAPO SAN MARCO (COSTA SUD OCCIDENDATALE SICILIANA)

From 1998 until 2009 a catch-eff ort survey was carried out on the artisanal fi shing fl eet of Marinella di Selinunte. The fl eet fi shes with trammel net and/or gill net along the southwestern Sicilian coast in the wide gulf reaching from Capo San Marco to the east, to Capo Granitola to the west. In 2004, a restocking experiment with Melicerctus kerathurus post-larvae raised in an acquaculture facility from wild indigenous breeders was carried out in this area. Cpue analysis of the stock assessment shows that Melicerctus kerathurus is in overfi shing except in 2005, the year after the restocking. Palinurus elephas and Homarus gammarus are also highly overfi shed. Active restocking as a management strategy may be desirable for rebuilding Melicerctus kerathurus stock and increasing its catch.

Tra il 1998 ed il 2009 e stata condotta una indagine di cattura e sforzo sulla fl otta da pesca artigianale basata a Marinella di Selinunte che opera con tremagli e/o monofi lo nell'ampio golfo delimitato ad est da Capo San Marco e ad ovest da Capo Granitola. Inoltre nel 2004 è stato eff ettuato, in questa area, un esperimento di ripopolamento con post-larve di Melicerctus kerathurus prodotte in un impianto di acquicultura a partire da riproduttori selvatici indigeni. La valutazione della risorsa eff ettuata mediante analisi della cpue ha mostrato che Melicerctus kerathurus è sovrasfuttato tranne nel 2005 cioè l'anno successivo al ripopolamento. Palinurus elephas e Homarus gammarus versano in uno stato di pesante sovrasfuttamento. Sembra opportuno adottare una strategia gestionale basata sul ripopolamento attivo al fi ne di raff orzare la popolazione di Melicerctus kerathurus ed incrementarne le catture.
