The following work presents a trend analysis of seasonal precipitation observed in a region of Southern Italy (Calabria) through the Mann-Kendall non-parametric test and a correlation analysis between rainfalls aggregated at different time scales and two global circulation indexes, the North Atlantic Oscillation Index (NAOI) and the Mediterranean Oscillation Index (MOI). The results show a general negative trend in precipitation, with the exception of summer season, and links of the NAOI with autumn and winter rainfalls, observed in the north-western part of Calabria, and of the MOI with winter precipitation, revealing a more uniform distribution throughout the region.

Abstract
The following work presents a trend analysis of seasonal precipitation observed in a region of Southern Italy (Calabria) through the Mann-Kendall non-parametric test and a correlation analysis between rainfalls aggregated at different time scales and two global circulation indexes, the North Atlantic Oscillation Index (NAOI) and the Mediterranean Oscillation Index (MOI). The results show a general negative trend in precipitation, with the exception of summer season, and links of the NAOI with autumn and winter rainfalls, observed in the north-western part of Calabria, and of the MOI with winter precipitation, revealing a more uniform distribution throughout the region.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
