Influence of catalyst controlled molecular structure on the postmodification of polyolefins

The preparation of polyolefins with controlled amounts of functional groups can be approached according to a two steps process consisting of the catalytic polymerisation of suitable monomers and the successive chemical modification of the obtained macromolecules by a free radical reaction in the melt, in solution or water suspension. In this paper it is shown that the modification can be modulated to a great extent depending on feed composition and macromolecular structure.
