Forty-seven species of terrestrial isopods are recorded from 117 caves in Tuscany (central Italy). Twelve species can be considered as eucavernicolous (3 troglobitic and 9 eutroglophilic) and 35 as subcavernicolous (7 subtroglophilic and 28 trogloxenous). Five species (Trichoniscus maremmanus, T. apenninicus, Moserius elbanus, Alloschizidium cavernicolum and Armadillidium apuanum) are described as new. The composition of the eucavernicolous oniscidean fauna of Tuscany is discussed.

Abstract
Forty-seven species of terrestrial isopods are recorded from 117 caves in Tuscany (central Italy). Twelve species can be considered as eucavernicolous (3 troglobitic and 9 eutroglophilic) and 35 as subcavernicolous (7 subtroglophilic and 28 trogloxenous). Five species (Trichoniscus maremmanus, T. apenninicus, Moserius elbanus, Alloschizidium cavernicolum and Armadillidium apuanum) are described as new. The composition of the eucavernicolous oniscidean fauna of Tuscany is discussed.File in questo prodotto:
