In this chapter, the Ir-catalyzed reduction of carbonyl functional groups (C=O) in organic molecules is reviewed. The early sections reflect the interests of the various research groups for this topic during the past few decades, including chemoselective and enantioselective hydrogenation under an atmosphere or pressure of hydrogen gas, and chemoselective and asymmetric transfer hydrogenation. The final section is dedicated to heterogeneously catalyzed processes, including examples of biocatalysis.

Abstract
In this chapter, the Ir-catalyzed reduction of carbonyl functional groups (C=O) in organic molecules is reviewed. The early sections reflect the interests of the various research groups for this topic during the past few decades, including chemoselective and enantioselective hydrogenation under an atmosphere or pressure of hydrogen gas, and chemoselective and asymmetric transfer hydrogenation. The final section is dedicated to heterogeneously catalyzed processes, including examples of biocatalysis.File in questo prodotto:
