La sfida africana di Medea

Analysis of revisiting the myth of Medea by the Cameroonian playwright Werewere Liking, in the context of postcolonial studies . by the end of '900, these studies have reported a growing interest in capturing the Western literary canon of numerous rewrites of the classic works of European cultural heritage. Reading Liking stresses especially the pain of being a marginalized foreigner torn between the condition of woman (a mother) and her vocation as a priestess.

Analisi della rivisitazione del mito di Medea da parte della drammaturga camerunese Werewere Liking, nel quadro degli studi postcoloniali che, dalla fine del '900, hanno registrato un interesse crescente per l'acquisizione al canone letterario occidentale di numerose riscritture, secondo prospettive eterogenee, di opere classiche del patrimonio culturale europeo. La lettura di Liking mette in rilievo soprattutto le pene della straniera emarginata e dell'essere dilaniato fra la condizione di donna, di madre e la sua vocazione di sacerdotessa.
