Priniàs, a small village located in centrai Crete, is a key-site for che study of the so called "Dark Age" of Greece. lt allows the opportunity to investigate the historical processes between the end of the Minoan Age and the Archaic Period. The excavations, carried our by a joined mission of carried out by the University of Catania and the National Council of Researches of Catania since 1969, have brought to light a wide sector of the archaic city, a pottery workshop and a large necropolis. In the latest years a digitization project has been developed, involving all the paper-based, graphic and phorographic data. Furthermore, specific fields of research have been selected and strengthened thruough a multidisciplinary approach. Concerning the restoration, the main goal has been focused on the in progress project of restoration and study of the temple A and its sculptural decoration. Finally, the project of restoration and exploitation of the archaeological remains is still at a planning stage.
