The magnetic properties related to the microstructures in the 0.50BaTiO3-0.50Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 magneto-electric composites are investigated. The di-phase ceramics were prepared by two methods: (i) mixing powders of BaTiO3 and Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 and (ii) by coprecipitation of Fe, Ni and Zn salts in solutions containing BaTiO3 powders. Homogeneous microstructures, higher density and better mixing of the two phases were obtained by the second method, giving rise to higher magnetic moments. The magnetic properties in such composites result as determined both by the ferrite concentration and properties and by the degree of connectivity of the two phases.
