Electrochemical and chemical polymerization of N-hexylcyclopenta[ c]pyrrole has produced a novel 1,3,4-substituted polypyrrole soluble in acetone, acetonitrile and chlorinated solvents. The absence of defects, guaranteed by the complete capping, allows the use of this polymer in applications in which a regularity of the conjugated chain is a strict prerequisite.

Abstract

Electrochemical and chemical polymerization of N-hexylcyclopenta[ c]pyrrole has produced a novel 1,3,4-substituted polypyrrole soluble in acetone, acetonitrile and chlorinated solvents.
