In February 2006 the first book produced by the SIG NLE was issued (ISBN:90-77874-15-1), printed by SensePublishers (http://www.sensepublishers.com), an international academic publishing house with headquarters in Rotterdam (NL) and Taipei (TW), which publishes books in the field of educational research. The book is presented on the publisher's web site at http://www.sensepublishers.com/books/otherbooks/90-77874-15-1.htm, from where a nonprintable pdf file of the book can be downloaded. The book is titled "Technology-mediated Narrative Environments for Learning" and is edited by four SIG members: Giuliana Dettori (ITD CNR, Italy), Tania Giannetti (ITD CNR, Italy), Ana Paiva (INESC-ID, Portugal) and Ana Vaz (INESC-ID, Portugal). It is addressed first of all to teachers, but also to educators, parents, cultural operators, researchers and software designers interested in the field of educational technology (including special educational needs). The book aims to help all of them increase their ability to exploit, appreciate and enjoy their work with technology-mediated narrative learning environments.
