The reflectivity spectra of Cd1-xMnxF2 mixed crystals have been measured in the energy range 5 - 34 eV, for concentrations of manganese x=0.02 and x=0.1, and compared with the spectrum of pure CdF2. In the x=0.1 sample, all reflectivity structures get broader in energy and decrease in intensity, while the energy position of the main peaks does not change appreciably. The 7.6 eV direct exciton peak, on the other hand, is shifted toward higher energies. This behavior is discussed in terms of Mn2+ 3d states interacting with F- 2p valence band states
