We have prepared new copolymers constituted by the regular alternation of sequences of thienylene (low gap fragment) and phenylene segments linked together with azomethine moieties. The characterizations, thermal, molecular, structural and spectroscopical, i.e. UV-vis. and FTIR, are consistent with a polyazomethinic backbone. Preliminary CW photomodulation and Raman measurements indicate the presence of electronic confinement in the thienylenic segments, as expected from a multiple quantum dot structure.

Abstract
We have prepared new copolymers constituted by the regular alternation of sequences of thienylene (low gap fragment) and phenylene segments linked together with azomethine moieties. The characterizations, thermal, molecular, structural and spectroscopical, i.e. UV-vis. and FTIR, are consistent with a polyazomethinic backbone. Preliminary CW photomodulation and Raman measurements indicate the presence of electronic confinement in the thienylenic segments, as expected from a multiple quantum dot structure.File in questo prodotto:
