Abstract

The contribution presented here, comprised within the framework of a wider project, carried out for some time by writers and those concerned with the primary objective of providing an update and therefore, reference, of the presence of Hellenistic and Roman fine table wares since the late Hellenistic to Middle and Late Imperial period, hopes to shed new light on the situation on the island between the 1st century BC and the 1st century AD illustrated through the presence of Italian sigillata. It should also serve to initiate a general picture which would provide a useful point of reference for the insertion of new data as it gradually emerges from old and new excavations.
