In this study, severa1 settlement features like depth, microhabitat and density oE common spiny lobster Pnlinurus elephns in a marine protected area were described. A SCUBA diving visual census was conducted for about 12 months on a rocky bottom from 0 to 30 m depth inside the MPA of Isola delle Femmine - Capo Gallo. Settlement oipost-pueruli took place from June to October, showing a peak in August. The highest density of lobster juveniles was recorded at 10 - 15m depth in natural hole excaved on vertical or sub-vertical slopes inside the pre-coralligenous biocenosis. Results are discussed considering also the activities of the artisanal fleet in the area.
