Conventional or unconventional polymeric or inorganic materials have been used for the conservation of stones and mural paintings, testing their consolidation action, efficiency, reversibility, compatibility, inertness and durability. Calcium alkossides and allumino-silicate geopolymers revealed to be quite promising materials. The decady processes of the polymers are reported, together with the new products (decay markers) and the related physico-chemical properties arising from the chemical modifications of the starting materials. Calcium carbonate formation from the reaction of various decorated calcium alkoxides and atmospheric CO2 and its growing on models and in situ are reported. Finally, the synthesis, properties and possible applications of geopolymers are briefly considered.

Abstract
Finally, the synthesis, properties and possible applications of geopolymers are briefly considered.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
