The mass spectrometric behaviour of ten variously substituted mono- and bis-salicylaldimine derivatives has been studied by fast-atom bombardment and metastable-ion studies. In general, well detectable protonated molecules are present and fragmentation processes mainly related to aldimine chain cleavages are evidenced. Interesting cyclization reactions leading to particularly stable product ions are discussed.

Abstract
The mass spectrometric behaviour of ten variously substituted mono- and bis-salicylaldimine derivatives has been studied by fast-atom bombardment and metastable-ion studies. In general, well detectable protonated molecules are present and fragmentation processes mainly related to aldimine chain cleavages are evidenced. Interesting cyclization reactions leading to particularly stable product ions are discussed.File in questo prodotto:
