Mixed-valence manganites exhibit a rich phase diagrams as function of doping level and interesting features: MR, charge, orbital and magnetic orderings. The understanding of the ordering phenomena in the mixed-valence Mn compounds, is hindered by chemical disorder. Contrary to the "classical" perovskite mixed-valent manganites (AMnO3), the "double" perovskite m.-v. manganites (AA'Mn4O12) are chemically "clean" materials, therefore model systems for the comprehension of the ordering mechanisms.
