NaMn7O12 is an ambient pressure metastable manganite, which crystallizes under high pressure and exhibits a double perovskite structure. Large single crystals are required for studying the interesting properties of this material, associated to the charge, orbital and spin ordering phenomena, typical of the mixed-valence Manganese compounds. Here we present a detailed study on the numerous parameters which control the nucleation and govern the growth of NaMn7O12 crystals. We also propose a growth model, that might be useful for understanding the crystallization under high pressure, one of the most complicated field of the solid state chemistry.

Abstract
NaMn7O12 is an ambient pressure metastable manganite, which crystallizes under high pressure and exhibits a double perovskite structure. Large single crystals are required for studying the interesting properties of this material, associated to the charge, orbital and spin ordering phenomena, typical of the mixed-valence Manganese compounds. Here we present a detailed study on the numerous parameters which control the nucleation and govern the growth of NaMn7O12 crystals. We also propose a growth model, that might be useful for understanding the crystallization under high pressure, one of the most complicated field of the solid state chemistry.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
