The chemistry of atmospherical depositions is more and more important for environmental problems, even in relation to modifications of nutritive elements and possible damages to wood heritage. To that aim, comparative surveys about the chemistry of such depositions, and about the modifications of some chemical parameters, following processes of hydrologic balance cycle, have been started. In the Crati basin, two plots have been equipped: one of them is represented by a coppice with rotations standards constituted by Roverella (Q. Pubescens Willd.) and Farnetto (Q. Farnetto Ten), the other one by a coppice with standards constituted by the same species. In both the coppices, water related to incident rainfalls, throughfall, steamflow, and runoff has been gathered and measured, for each event of rainfall. In order to get useful comparisons, the analysis of atmospherical depositions in a site next to experimental plots, within an anthropic zone with the presence of roads, intense traffic and some industrial activities, has been led.On the taken samples, the following determinationshave been carried out in laboratory:N-NH4, N-NO2, P-PO4, S-SO4, Cl, COD, pH and conductivity. The reached results confirm the presence of acid rainfalls an show that the vegetation factor can change solutes contents into water solutions. The positive effect of the vegetation on the pH rectification and on the transformation and neutralization of toxic substances, has been pointed out.

Abstract
The positive effect of the vegetation on the pH rectification and on the transformation and neutralization of toxic substances, has been pointed out.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
