Positive pressure ventilation used nowadays extensively to preserve life, to assist inefficient spontaneous breathing or during any kind of surgery, is known to have an adverse effect on cardiovascular system. LVAD is one of the method to assist circulation in pathological conditions. Its application is supposed to increase total cardiac output, systemic arterial pressure (Pas), right atrial pressure (Pra) and decrease natural cardiac output, left atrial pressure (Pla) and pulmonary arterial pressure (Pap). Mechanical ventilation of the lungs causes same side-effects that influence mainly haemodynamics: decrease cardiac output (CO) and systemic aortic pressure but increase systemic venous pressure (Pvs). The aim of the study was to assess the influence of LVAD on haemodynamic parameters when mechanical ventilation of the lungs is applied.

Abstract
The aim of the study was to assess the influence of LVAD on haemodynamic parameters when mechanical ventilation of the lungs is applied.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
