Abstract
A detailed description of miscible transport phenomena in complex porous-media is important in several areas of reservoir and environmental engineering. This paper presents and discusses both implementation and numerical issues related to the application of high performance computing for the approximate solution of miscible flow models. The target architecture is an IBM-SP2, a MIMD-machine. Numerical experiments, including the simulation of the transport of a solvent in a strongly heterogeneous real field, show that domain decomposition techniques coupled with an implicit time advancing scheme yield good parallel performances.File in questo prodotto:
