The cultural heritage is one of the most suitables area for the implementation of hypermedia applications. This is due to the richness of interrelationships among the information items, and to the variety of scientific and cultural interests peculiar to the potential users of such applications. In this paper, we present a project whose aim is to develop a distributed heprmedia concerning archaelogical heritage in Tuscany, whose implementation is supported by a set of grants offered by Regione Toscana. The first step will be the implementation of a system whose aim is the reconstruction of the ancient environment of a town and its territory, by means of a diachronic analysis.
