The measurement of the thermal inertia of moist porous materials by active thermal monitoring is analyzed. Various solutions of the heat-conduction problem are investigated, and the assumptions introduced to simplify data collection are discussed. An error analysis is carried out, providing a means for optimizing the chosen testing method.
