To characterise the beam of SPIDER, a diagnostic calorimeter (dubbed STRIKE) is being developed. Its main components are one-directional carbon fibre carbon composite tiles (CFC) and thermal cameras. A small-scale system composed of two tile prototypes and one thermal camera (mini-STRIKE) is used at IPP-Garching with the aim of investigating the properties of the BATMAN beam. The presentation will describe design, installation and commissioning of the mini-STRIKE in BATMAN. The first results of the characterisation of the BATMAN beam by the mini-STRIKE in various operating conditions will be presented.
